Who would have thought that this moment would come? The moment it was time to write my last journal of high school is finally here. High school has been an amazing journey and has prepared me for what is yet to come. As for now, I am very excited but anxious about graduation. I know that as the days go by, these feelings are going to get stronger and I may even be more anxious than excited. I am also nervous at the fact that I will be walking on the football field in front of many of families. Just the thought of June 10th makes me cringe.
This entire year, I have been preparing myself for graduation day and my life after that day. All the steps that needed to be taken, I took. I have done everything that has been required up to this point to see graduation day and walk with my class. Since junior year, I have been taking the classes necessary to finish my university track here at school. I took harder courses than what my friends were taking and getting work done ahead of time to keep myself from stressing later. So far this year, I have made sure to finish all of my classes on time by working on my procrastination. I have cut back dramatically on procrastinating and it has been showing in my work which I am proud of. On top of that, I have been juggling senior year deadlines, as well as college deadlines. Senior year has been full of important dates to remember to either sign up for things or pay for things. For example, I have had to pay for my AVID trip and my grad night trip. Moreover, college deadlines are crucial to meet as well and since there are so many, it can get confusing. I have had to sign up for my placement test and have had to make 8 portals to stay connected to the colleges I have applied to. It is all so overwhelming but I have been getting it done. I have yet to present my exit interview and finish some last touches on my website. Those two things I plan on getting done within the next week so I should be done soon.
I am mostly looking forward to the fun things now that we are reaching the end. Since most of the stressful parts of senior year are almost over, I can look forward to things such as grad night and graduation, as well as my AVID trip coming up in the middle of March. I am beyond grateful for high school and the experiences that came along with it. I have learned so much about myself and know what I want the next four years of my life to look like. I feel that this is the most prepared I can possibly be! With that being said, I will leave high school a happy graduate of Lindsay High School.
