I cannot believe I am now a senior. It seems like it did not take long for me to get here since the past three years flew by. The fact that after this, I will be out in the real world is scary to me. I know that everyone reaches this point in their lives eventually, now that mine is here, I am ready. I have passed all of my classes thus far which I am very proud of, now to keep a good mindset to help me finish off my high school career strong. A week has gone by and I already like most of my teachers, my classes are decent and I feel really great about this last year in high school. It is only the beginning but I think I should be optimistic all year around, which is a piece of advice I am taking from my family members that are alumnis. I remember walking through the gates of school my very first day as a freshmen, and it seemed as if senior year was so far away. I came to school that day thinking that the next four years of my life were going to go by extremely slow…boy was I wrong. Freshmen year went by so quickly that when tenth grade came, it felt like high school was barely beginning.
Second year came and I had the hang of things and got the feel of how everything went but still figured that high school was going by slow and I would never get out. Academically, the work was easy and I had no problem getting good grades. Socially, I was more of a quiet person who stuck to the same people. Since I was an underclassmen, I felt like I had to be more on the quiet side and I basically was afraid of all of the older people. Those two years were of course what seemed difficult then, but actually the easiest years of high school. I soon would be realizing that as I was getting ready to be an upperclassmen. Junior year had to have been the most difficult for me in all my years of school. I was finally an upperclassmen but quickly was introduced to a lot of new things. I had more responsibility, deadlines were a bit more drastic, and the work was rough. In all of my years of learning, I have never struggled in school.
Junior year was for sure the first year I struggled. The work of my 11th grade year was not so much hard, but it was a lot. The difference between the amount work I received my sophomore year and the amount of work I received my junior year was so different.
On top of that, for the first time in high school, graduation expectations were being brought up. Noticing that, I knew that I had a lot of harder work ahead of me.
Now that I have completed the 11th grade and am onto my last year of high school, I literally feel like I can do anything. I feel so accomplished and proud of myself. A lot of people cannot say that they have accomplished all that I have. The simple fact that I have made it this far, is astonishing and makes me feel that I can do a lot of things I set my mind to. Going through all of the obstacles I went through throughout my time in high school has made me strive to work harder. So I did, and I accomplished what I thought was impossible. I am looking forward to the remainder of my senior year and am also looking forward to all of the great things I have yet to accomplish.
